Gazelle — Atlanta Screening + Q&A with Nadir Sarıbacak

Part of the Gazelle Special Event Screening Series

A special one-night theatrical event.

Yakup arrives in New York with one goal: to bring his family to safety.

After being forced to leave Turkey due to political unrest, he builds a fragile life in the United States while trying to reunite with his wife and daughter. When he learns the legal process could take years, he faces an impossible choice: wait, or risk everything.

As the pressure of uncertainty grows, the struggle shifts inward. Time begins to blur. Relationships strain. What starts as survival slowly turns into a psychological unraveling.

Gazelle is a deeply human story of exile, identity, and the quiet cost of waiting.

Special Event — Director in Attendance

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with director and lead actor Nadir Sarıbacak, joined by journalist and film critic Felicia Feaster.

Drawing from his own migration experience, Sarıbacak brings a rare level of authenticity to the film. The conversation will explore the personal story behind Gazelle, the psychological impact of displacement, and the role cinema plays in creating empathy across cultures and communities.

Felicia Feaster is an Atlanta-based journalist, critic, and author. She is the co-founder of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle and a former managing editor at HGTV, as well as the former director of the content studio at climate nonprofit Rewiring America. Her writing has appeared in USA Today, The Economist, Martha Stewart, Garden & Gun, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, among many others. A recipient of multiple Society of Professional Journalists awards, Feaster is also the author of the book The Goth Garden: The Mystery, Beauty, and Lore of Dark Gardening (Simon & Schuster, 2025).
