Special Event: Nadir Sarıbacak in Attendance
The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with co-director and lead actor Nadir Sarıbacak, moderated by Jan Storø and Frode Nordås.
The conversation will explore the personal story behind the film, the psychological impact of displacement, and the experience of rebuilding a life in a new country. It will open up a broader discussion around identity, belonging, and the realities of migration.
Jan Storø is a film critic based in Oslo. He writes on film for Khrono, the daily paper owned by nine Norwegian universities, and for the film journals Cinema and Z. A member of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics, he has served on juries in Tromsø, Cannes, Munich, Krakow, Thessaloniki, Warsaw, Karlovy Vary and Mar del Plata, and his main interest lies in arthouse cinema and in films from outside the dominant American and European mainstream. He is also Professor Emeritus of Social Pedagogy at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Oslo Metropolitan University, the author of ten books, and he makes short films of his own.
