The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with co-director and lead actor Nadir Sarıbacak, moderated by Dana Linssen.
The conversation will explore the personal story behind the film, the psychological impact of displacement, and the experience of rebuilding a life in a new country. It will open up a broader discussion around identity, belonging, and the realities of migration.
Dana Linssen is a film critic, writer and philosopher based in the Netherlands. She has been a critic for the national daily NRC since 1998 and a contributor to the film magazine de Filmkrant, where she was Editor-in-Chief and later Publisher from 1998 to 2019. For the International Film Festival Rotterdam she programmed the Critics' Choice section, known for the video essays it produced for the big screen, and she founded the Slow Criticism Project, a series of interventions to counterbalance the commodification of film criticism. She teaches at the Utrecht University of the Arts and the ArtEZ Theatre Academy in Amsterdam, sits on the selection committee of Berlinale Talents, and is a long-standing mentor of Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents Press. She has contributed to monographs on Chantal Akerman, Fiona Tan, Béla Tarr and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, among others, and also writes for theatre.

About the Film
Shot on location in New York and New Jersey, Gazelle draws from lived experience and favors an intimate, naturalistic approach to storytelling.
Co-directed by Nadir Sarıbacak and Samy Pioneer. Written by Ayhan Hulagu and Nadir Sarıbacak.
The film premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, where it received the VIFF Vanguard Audience Award, and has since screened at the Chicago International Film Festival, Dances With Films New York (Industry Choice Award), Sedona International Film Festival, and the Aegean Film Festival, where it had its European premiere.
